Many of us have been in New York but even if we hadn’t we would still be able to recognize some of the city’s icons. However, how much attention do you pay to details? They weren’t easy at all! I wished I could go in October again, looks like there are so many things to visit. I went in summer which was pretty good actually 🙂

Great photos. Thanks for sharing. I only have an idea on the last one because of the apparent context and the waterfall in the far background.
If you get a chance I would love to see a post from you on Parkchester, Bronx. I spent my pre-teen summers there (late 1940’s) and am still amazed at the architecture and green areas.

I have never lived in NYC. My Aunt and Uncle moved into Parkchester when it first opened. He was the Yardmaster for NY Central Railroad in Grand Central Station. I have always lived in upstate NY. My uncle and aunt would have me come to Parkchester for summer vacation (sort of like a reverse Fresh Air Kid). They were childless and showed me a great time during the summers that I visited. I will remember the scenes of Parkchester until the day I leave this earth.
What a great time for a county kid. Visiting with all sorts of people with all sorts of different ideas, getting tours of the underground yards of Grand Central, swimming almost every day in the Castle Hill Swimming club, eating Chinese at the Toysun restaurant on Unionport Road.
