The Free Architecture Guide of Berlin

Virginia Duran Blog- Berlin Architecture Guide 2017 PDF

Two weeks ago I visited Berlin for the first time. Despite having heard it was amazing, it turned out to be even better than I thought. Berlin is a strange mixture of past and present full of architectural contrasts. One of the most interesting cities I’ve ever visited, that’s for sure. Along with North Rhine-Westphalia, it is one of my top destinations in Germany.

Anything interesting in terms of architecture is here. If you find any mistakes, or have any suggestions please let me know. My intention is to keep it useful. Hope you enjoy!

  1. Very impressive Virginia. Terri and I are architecture buffs, and we spent 3 months in Berlin. And after seeing your detailed and interesting guide, I’m sad that we didn’t have it while we were there. As you know, architecture is form and function, but it’s also politics, philosophy, and the human spirit expressed in steel, glass, and stone. Your guide will help visitors to Berlin understand this. Bravo! ~James

    • What a compliment James! I agree that architecture is more than just form and function and this is why I think everyone should be interested in not so known buildings. Hopefully some travelers use my map and get some inspiration in this field.

Also if you find I missed any spots or there is something wrong please tell me. I am human and make mistakes (lots of them) 😀

      All the best, Virginia

    • Hello Jalal,
I agree with you. After living in Chicago I understood some places should be avoided in winter. And Berlin is one of them. Fortunately, I went in autum and the weather was great 🙂
